Making Sense: An Expressive Arts Approach
with Expressive Arts Therapy educator, Markus G. Scott-Alexander, and Ashkan Anbarzadeh, with musician Linda Worster.
In expressive arts work, we make art, and we make sense, sometimes, searching for clarity, and sometimes, creating clarity. In this workshop, we will look at some expressive arts-oriented methods for creating clarity and making sense through artistic and contemplative reflection.
Ashkan Anbarzadeh
Ashkan is a second-year student in a Master’s in Clinical Psychology program at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran and is trained in Ego State Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis, and Transactional Analysis. Having the experience of learning different approaches, he became interested in finding creative ways to make bridges between theories and modalities more effective. Being Introduced to Expressive Arts in a workshop with Elzette Fritz, he joined Expressive Arts Without Borders and met Markus Scott Alexander. He became interested in learning more about his approach to phenomenological philosophy and finding ways to integrate Expressive Arts with his therapeutic framework. He has brought his curiosity and interest to a series of YouTube conversations with Markus.
